It is a well know axiom that good network security
is achieved using a layered approach. There is no magic bullet, no
one single device that can adequately protect your trusted computing
infrastructure.
For this reason, in addition to a robust gateway-based solution,
Anti-virus must also be deployed and maintained on all internal
network computing resources such as servers and especially user
workstations, since they are usually the most vulnerable and
therefore one of the most common vectors through which malware is
introduced and propagated throughout the network.

advanced heuristic analysis to protect against zero-day threats in
addition to traditional signature-based analysis to provide
protection against all forms of malware at all entry points.
